April Henry and William Zinsser

January 23, 2011.

April Henry is a mystery writer, also skilled in writing for young adults, who also does book reviews for the Oregonian. She talked rapid fire with plenty of ideas just falling out of her, I couldn’t take notes fast enough! About thirty-five others sat with me in the Wilsonville Library, hoping for affirmation or inspiration, and I think we got it!

On Writing Well by Zinsser, the classic “how to” writing text alongside E.B.White gives direction to the inspiration, like a road map when you know where you intend to arrive.

A writing critique group is a great asset too. I am really blessed to be able to attend Chrysalis meetings at our Community College.
